Students must provide the following information when they register for a course that requires prerequisite work:
- What class and/or previous experience(s) do you believe satisfies the prerequisite?
- For course(s), please include course name(s) & number(s), institution(s) attended, date(s) taken, and any other relevant details.
The prerequisite information will be shared for review by the instructor of the course. They will receive an automated notification when the student registers for the course. The message will be similar to the one listed below:

Jane Doe (jdoe0000@uncw.edu) has registered for Ger 203 O1D.
The student entered the following information for prerequisites:
GER 102-Introductory German II at UNCW in Fall 2013.
Please complete one of the following steps regarding their prerequisite work:
-Do nothing. Additional steps are not needed if the student has met the prerequisite requirements for the course.
-Ask the student to drop the course. You must request for the student to drop the course through UNC Online (courses.northcarolina.edu) if they have not met the prerequisite requirements for the course.
-Contact the student to request additional details about their prerequisite work.
Note: The student was instructed to meet with their home institution advisor prior to registering for the course through the Language Exchange. It is the student's responsibility to consult with their home institution advisor to ensure that the course will further the completion of their degree and will keep them on track for graduation.
