Why can't I select a proctor?
Please login to UNC Online (http://online.northcarolina.edu) and "mouse over" the greyed out area (the proctor's name) to view why you cannot select that proctor.
There are 3 common reasons why proctors are greyed out: (1) cannot provide close and constant exam proctoring, (2) exam scheduling lead time, and/or (3) do not have availability/capacity.
Close and Constant Exam Proctoring
The student's exam requires "Close and Constant" supervision, as indicated by their faculty member.
The proctoring license does not provide this level of exam proctoring supervision (e.g., As a matter of policy, UNC Online does not allow public libraries to offer this service. This policy is in place because we understand a public library's main responsibility is to its patrons. Therefore, they are not able to monitor a student taking an exam from beginning to end.)
Exam Scheduling Lead Time
This proctoring license requires exam appointments to be scheduled a certain number of business days in advance.
NOTE: If the proctor has a lead time set up and the proctor would like to accommodate the appointment then the proctor will need to override the lead time. The proctor can do this by going to the "Lead Time Override" tab (click here to learn more about lead time overrides).
No Availability And/Or Capacity
The proctoring license does not have any availability and/or capacity during the student's exam window.
If the proctor would like to accommodate the student then the proctor needs to increase their availability and/or capacity. The proctor can do this by going to the "Settings" tab (click here to learn more about adjusting your availability and capacity).
NOTE: In some exam appointment situations, the proctor may need to adjust both their scheduling lead time and availability/capacity for some students.
