What is a Proctored Exam?
Participating UNC system universities may use UNC Online for proctored exams in web-based, asynchronous courses.
Some web-based, asynchronous courses require students to take exams in a supervised environment. This helps instructors verify online students’ identities and ensures academic integrity.
1. Students with online+paper, paper exams must take exams with an approved face-to-face proctor from the UNC Online Proctoring Network.
2. Students with online exams can select between a face-to-face proctor or the "Take Your Exam Via WebCam Proctor." The webcam proctor permits students to take their test from home, as long as the student has high speed internet, and provides flexible scheduling options (available 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year).
