Do All Proctors Charge a Fee?
Proctors may charge a proctoring fee and proctors are responsible for the collection of these fees. Fees are a transaction between the proctor and student. UNC Online does not play a role in disputes with regard to fees. NOTE: Proctor's fees have limitations per UNC Online's Proctor Licensing Agreement.
Please Be Aware: Free proctoring sites often reach capacity during peak testing periods (midterm exams and final exams).
NOTE: When students register for online courses, an alert about proctoring fees is posted by the campus - this is a Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) - Section 10.6 requirement. For example, ECU students see the following message when they register for online courses: There may be additional fees associated with Distance Education courses for verification of student identity for proctored examinations.
