Student Disability Services (SDS) Accommodation - Entering Extended Time for a Student
Instructors are responsible for understanding their institution's policies, regarding Student Disability Services (SDS), as they apply to extended time for a student's exams. Instructors should contact the Department of Student Disability Services on their campus for questions regarding a student's eligibility for extended time or other accommodations.
Instructors are able to add an *SDS Multiplier to a student's exam. NOTE: Each semester, the instructor only has to include the SDS Multiplier for one of the student's exams. By default, the SDS Multiplier will then automatically be included for the rest of the student's exams, in the same course and section. PLEASE NOTE: There is a specific situation when SDS will NOT automatically be added to a student's exam.
NOTE: The SDS Multiplier must be added for any subsequent semesters in which the student is enrolled.
*SDS Multiplier Defined: Based on the documentation submitted to SDS, extended time is typically approved in increments of one and one half or double the exam duration.
