Minimize the Cost of Proctoring
To minimize the cost of proctored exams, and conserve valuable proctoring resources, instructors should take the following steps:
Limit Exams: Limit the number of proctored exams to 1-2 per semester.
Create Exams Early: Create your exam in UNCO during the first week of the semester (or the first day of summer session). By adding your exam early in the semester/summer session, students are assured to have plenty of time to search for a proctor, compare proctoring fees, and schedule their appointments well in advance.
Exam Duration: Many proctors charge an hourly fee, so it is important to make sure your exam duration accurately reflects the true time it takes students to complete the exam. Please do not "pad" your exam duration, because students are required to pay the full cost of the exam duration, even if they complete the exam in less time than the allocated duration. Also, proctors reserve staffing and resources based on exam duration.
